Helpless Society Coerced To Begging

By: Farman Ali

Everyone is worried. Some one has a lot of money, while others do not have a single penny. Some people are worried for two square meals of food.

Others have a lot of money but there is no one to spend it. It appears every person one or the other way is leading difficult life no matters what status he or she has?

Some people despite possessing abilities, but still depend on others for their basic needs. Before doing anything they start thinking that this is impossible for them.

Today we will see many people who are begging for their basic needs. Some soft heart people do help them where as others scold them and move.

According to a survey, number of beggars is increasing day by day. At some places people have made it business, they work jointly like community where they allot different areas for their colleagues.

In the holy month of Ramadan these people earn a lot. But in normal days they  earn in thousands.

Whether its Hyderabad, Karachi, or other cities, we find beggars in different shopping malls, bus stops, outside the schools, colleges, and restaurants as well.

Even in Sindh University campus, there is good number of beggars, one can find them outside of canteen and even sometimes inside of points as well.

Here my motive is not disgrace these beggars but to create awareness among others that some people are begging for their basic needs while other have made this as their business.

Such beggars are physically and mentally perfectly and do any work to earn through some labour but they prefer begging.

Such people can't live without begging. Now a new trend has been introduced. The beggars wearing new clothes appear on road and narrate their so called ordeal that they had been robbed by someone and now they need help to reach their destination.

After this dramatic act of such beggars some people believe on them and help them while others do not help them.

The government is doing nothing for them. The government has unique policies for poor and needy people. According to these policies millions of rupees are released in the name of needy women, but unfortunately deserving continues desiring and do not get this amount.

If proper homework is done before distribution of such huge amount, the needy people would have been benefited.

It's responsibility of society to eradicate such practices and the government should also formulate effective policies for such have nots, so that nobody should be forced to beg.
